Ten Things Update 1

My ten goals, and what progress I've made:

  1. Run a half-marathon (21KM) in a decent time (less than 2 hours). Finished week two of the C25K plan.
  2. Achieve a moderate level of strength; 30 pushups, 60 situps, and 10 pullups should do as a start (based on the Australian Army's Commando Physical Fitness Entry Requirements). Only did a couple of days of training, would have liked more.
  3. Be at a half-decent martial artist. No Progress.
  4. Shoot a rifle and pistol accurately. No Progress.
  5. Have a decent knowledge of First Aid. No Progress.
  6. Be a member of the SES. No Progress.
  7. Have a basic working knowledge of at least one non-English language. Decided to go with Bahasa Indonesia, and purchased a book from the second hand bookshop. Finished the punctuation guide and part way through the first lesson.
  8. Make a decent profit on the share market (better than 5% annually). Purchased a couple of books on Share Investment, and also looked into the Darvas method on the Internet.
  9. Publish a short story, at least in one of the online magazines, but print would be better. Finished the rough draft of the story I had been working on, now need to finish it off and work on some more stories. (I don't think the one I was working on previously is good enough to get published, but I'll try submitting it, and publish it here if I can't get someone else to publish it)
  10. Post regularly here (at least once a week). Posted once last week as well as the ten things post.

So there we have it: three with about as much progress as I wanted, three with a bit less then I want, and four more with no progress. I don't expect to see progress on all of them at the same time, but I still would have liked a bit more. Hopefully I can work on at least a couple of those four this week.
